ABSTRACT
The chapter also gives particular treatment for localizing releases, based on the author's observation that the lack of local significance is the most commonly given reason that news releases are discarded by the media. The chapter concludes with a variety of exercises for different types of news releases, allowing instructors to remain with this chapter for as long as necessary so students can become comfortable and competent in writing news releases.
