ABSTRACT

Jeane W. Anastas, L.M.S.W., Ph.D. is Professor at the Silver School of Social Work, New York University. A full-time social work educator since 1980, she formerly served on the faculties of Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work and Smith College School of Social Work. She is the co-author of Not Just a Passing Phase: Social Work with Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual People (Columbia), and the author of Research Design for Social Work and Human Services (Jossey-Bass). Her recent articles have appeared in the Journal of Social Work Education and the Journal of Gay & Lesbian Social Services. She formerly directed the social work doctoral programs at Smith and New York University, was Chair of the Group for the Advancement of Social Work Education from 2003-2006, and now serves on the boards of the Institute for the Advancement of Social Work Research and the Action Network for Social Work Education and Research. Dr. Anastas just completed a term as Editor of the Journal of Gay & Lesbian Social Services and reviews for Affilia: The Journal of Women in Social Work, Clinical Social Work Journal, Journal of Social Work Education, and Social Work.
