ABSTRACT
There has been very little research in psychologyconcerned with how the control of power may influence the power holder’s views of both himself and the less powerful. Much of the writing in political science and philosophy, however, contain pertinent and suggestive information related to this question. This information indicates that persons who control economic and political power are viewed with mixed emotions. On the one hand, there is admiration for their ability to amass great power and admiration at times for the ways in which this great power is used to influence society.
