ABSTRACT

Joan was a 64-year-old housewife living at home with her retired husband when she suffered a left cerebro vascular accident (CVA). She was admitted to hospital where she remained for the next 4 months. She was seen by a speech and language therapist 5 days after her admission. Auditory comprehension was described as “very poor”. She produced no voice and was diagnosed as having a severe oral and articulatory apraxia.
