ABSTRACT

Organizations are beginning to feel a myriad of pressures for managing their environmental sustainability. Reactive and remedial measures of the past may not be adequate to develop and maintain a competitive advantage, especially one that would incorporate the natural environment. As such, the breadth of what organizations can do with respect to the natural environment has increased greatly within the last decade. Research to support these efforts has also seen a great surge. The reason is very clear: The environment is important to people, organizations, and countries, and corporations should heed, and maybe even lead, efforts that focus on industry’s relationship to the environment.
