ABSTRACT
Section 80(2)(a) of the 2000 Act states that the length of the sentence, which must not exceed the maximum sentence prescribed for the offence(s) being dealt with, should be ‘commensurate with the seriousness of the offence, or the combination of the offence and one or more offences associated with it’.
