ABSTRACT
The police officer who stopped me files a written report on the incident which will be considered by a senior police officer in the process department of that division of the police force. Thus, the initial decision whether or not to prosecute me is taken by a senior police officer. In some cases, however, the police may consult with the Crown Prosecution Service before commencing proceedings.
