ABSTRACT
The most commonly used nondestructive testing (NDT) methods in pressure vessel manufacturing are radiographic (RT), ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MPT), and liquid penetrant testing (LPT). For carrying out any NDT on a pressure vessel, a written procedure is necessary. This shall address all the salient parameters of the testing proposed during the actual performance of the test and be accompanied by the required forms used for NDT reporting. Sample procedures are discussed at length in Chapters 11 through 14.
