ABSTRACT

These are much more common in children than in adults. In the elderly, there is often great anxiety about missing a cerebral tumour. This is mainly because of the associated symptoms of headaches, eye problems, paralysis, fits and an altered mental state, all of which are common in old age. However, these symptoms are more likely to have a non-malignant cause, usually as a result of vascular disease or the degenerative process of Alzheimer’s disease.
