ABSTRACT

If the writ or warrant is not wholly executed, it can be renewed for further periods of up to 12 months by application to the court. An application to renew the writ or warrant should be made before the expiration of the original 12 month period of validity or any renewed period (if a further extension is required). However, the court does have the power to grant an extension of its validity even outside that period (RSC Ord 46 r 8(2) and CCR Ord 26 r 6(1)).
