ABSTRACT
Urologists are sometimes described as physicians who operate. This is because a large component of urological treatment is medical rather than surgical. Antibiotics are used extensively in the management of urinary infection. Analgesia is used in the management of pain and, in particular, in the management of renal colic – one of the most painful conditions known in medicine.
