ABSTRACT

The penis consists of the erectile tissues, as incorporated in the bilateral symmetrical corpora cavernosa and, slung beneath these, the anterior urethra and its surrounding erectile tissue, the corpus spongiosum. The tip of the penis, the glans is the terminal portion of the corpus spongiosum. It is covered by a double layer of skin, the foreskin or prepuce.
