ABSTRACT

On the eve of the 21st century it is appropriate to reflect on the effectiveness of courts of final jurisdiction in meeting the challenges of this era, and to consider, even predict, how these courts will address the issues that will confront them in the future. This book deals with both the retrospective and the prospective dimension and, as such, provides a current, comprehensive and thought-provoking treatment of the judicial and political role played by courts of final jurisdiction.
