ABSTRACT
This is an important area in terms of medico-legal practice. While biopsy of some neck nodes is essential to make diagnoses such as lymphoma or benign diagnoses such as tuberculous inflammation of a node, injudicious biopsy of clinically malignant neck nodes is to be condemned. Moreover, there are hazards associated with neck-node biopsy which lead to relatively frequent, medico-legal claims.
