ABSTRACT
These may be divided into two groups. The commoner are cosmetic abnormalities, of which the prominent or ‘bat’ ear is by far the most frequent. Less common and more serious are major abnormalities in development of the outer ear (pinna) and ear canal, which may be associated with gross cosmetic deformity as well as deafness.
