ABSTRACT
Medical audit is the systematic critical analysis of the quality of medical care, including procedures used for the diagnosis and treatment, the use of resources, and the resulting outcome on the quality of life for the recipient of care. It is doctor led and involves the setting and reviewing of standards of care, leading towards improved quality of care.
