ABSTRACT
GPs have always worked in a team setting, with district nurses attending patients in their homes for dressings and nursing care, and health visitors helping to promote the health of the under fives and the elderly in particular. Both of these professionals are attached to GPs, and their work-load is defined by their employers, the district health authority.
