ABSTRACT

Goodpasture’s syndrome is a rare disease with highly specialised therapy which is best undertaken by referral to a centre with expertise in the management of this condition.

This is a rare disease of unknown cause in which there is granulomatous inflammation, occurring mostly in midline structures. Clinical features include: • nose bleeds; • coughing of blood from inflammation of pulmonary blood vessels

(pulmonary vasculitis); • glomerulo-nephritis leading to renal failure.
