ABSTRACT
It is reasonable to ask whether students attending magnet schools enjoy higher academic achievement, but far from simple to obtain an unequivocal answer. Th e existing body of research is small. Most studies are limited to a single district. Even studies with a national scope include no more than a few dozen schools.
