ABSTRACT

Homeschooling is education that a family undertakes independently of a public or private school and the school’s institutional and organizational structures. It is possibly the most revolutionary form of school choice available within the U.S. education system. Children who homeschool are receiving an education that is privately funded, privately provided, and-to a great extent-privately regulated. For the children involved, the diff erences may be profound; but there are also diff use consequences across the education system.
