ABSTRACT
In the national drive to improve the performance of public schools, education policymakers at every level have implemented a wide range of policies and programs, addressing issues such as curriculum, leadership, class size, and most prominently standards-based accountability systems including those required under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.
