ABSTRACT

Dialogues across disciplines were also initiated during this time. For example, Kleinman and Good’s (1985) infl uential volume, Culture and Depression, brought together the research of not only anthropologists, but also of psychologists and psychiatrists as well as historians and philosophers. Another signifi cant indicator of the fi eld’s development was and continues to be its success in attracting new investigators. In sum, these fi rst 10 years can be characterized as an exciting and fertile time for the study of cultural psychopathology.
