ABSTRACT

In this Handbook, the contributors present the major themes and concepts of research in the politics of education, relating the structure of educational politics to the behavior, culture, and ideology of the governance of education. Given the diversity of approaches and perspectives presented in this Handbook, we argue that researchers should use more than one theoretical lens to view the politics of education because the interaction of structure, behavior, and beliefs often demarcates education politics as vital, critical, and vibrant-and at times unpredictable.
