ABSTRACT
Over the past 30 years, liberal Jews, the world over, have begun to enthusiastically tout full-time Jewish schooling as an answer to the increasing threat of assimilation. In this chapter we ask: Is this increasing emphasis on formal education the correct strategy for attaining cultural sustainability?
