ABSTRACT

In the social sciences, we are most frequently dealing with situational simulations, those simulations that deal with the behaviors and attitudes of people or organizations in different situations. Situational simulations are the least commonly available educational simulations because they are difficult to develop since they reflect complex human and organizational behavior (Alessi & Trollip, 2001). These kinds of complex social situations requiring complex knowledge representation rely heavily on developments in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), perhaps more so than on faster CPUs and larger memories.
