ABSTRACT

Critical Discourse Analysis-A theory and method that draws on the dialogic relationship between texts and social practices. Learning-A conscious activity that involves explicit instruction. Acquisition-A preconscious activity that involves being immersed in discourses. Reflexivity-Attention to examine the social, cultural, political, and interpersonal fields of discourse analysis and how the researcher is implicated into such relationships. Public intellectual-Educators who are consciously working to critique sociopolitical relationships.
