ABSTRACT
The purpose of the present chapter is to demonstrate that animated film is an effective entertainment-education (E-E) medium to consider, especially when a regional development theme or problem is being addressed. Animated film and related materials, such as comic books, can address sensitive social and behavioral issues in an effective way if the audience is fully involved in the creative process through extensive formative research. Such tools can be harnessed for social mobilization and changing social norms.
