ABSTRACT

In this chapter, comments and suggestions from a variety of African American fathers with varying histories are offered. These fathers are all professional men who believe in giving back and sharing.

In the south central Los Angeles neighborhood I grew up in, I never had problems finding positive images of Black fathers. I found them in my pastor Bishop William H. Graves and men in my church like Ralph Davis and Earl Dyer who told me that with God in my life I could do anything.
