ABSTRACT

People who talk may be communicative and construct together possible worlds oriented toward promoting reciprocal abilities. Or they may be confrontational-interfering, inventing sanctions, exchanging pain and suffering. These “realities” are central topics in the social sciences-particularly in social psychology, communication research, and studies on personal relations, whose aim is to find out to what extent the production or modification of the social psychological world is due to individuals, and to what extent it is due to their relationships.
