Some years ago, the Vermont Interdisciplinary Leadership Education for Health Professionals (VT-ILEHP) Program sought to assist Allison and her family. Allison was 18 years old when she was seen by the inter-

disciplinary team for a community assessment. Her family and those who knew her well consistently described her as sociable, fun to be with, curious, playful, sensitive, and loving. She liked being around her peers and enjoyed camping and other activities. She lived with her mother and extended family.
