ABSTRACT
Composition in the visual arts refers to the intentional arrangement of all the elements of a work. The primary function of composition is to arrange the elements of line, form, space, and color in a manner that indicates to the viewer what the work is about. To compose means to employ grouping principles that determine how figures are arranged to form units, and it is their organization into patterns that facilitates the communication of meaning and elicits appreciation of the work.
