ABSTRACT
During the 1997-1998 school year, Rocky Mountain participated, along with 13 other schools, in the CIERA Beat the Odds Study (see Taylor, Pearson, Clark, & Walpole, chap. 1, this volume). During the course of that study, Rocky Mountain emerged as one of the very most effective schools. This chapter is the story of Rocky Mountain’s journey in becoming a school that beat the odds.
