ABSTRACT

Multilevel models are useful in analyzing repeated measures data from behavioral research studies. Such studies often follow a cohort of individuals over time, resulting in repeated measurements on individuals. A cohort design may result in increased statistical power to detect effects of interest in a given set of participants (Maxwell, 1998) and allows examination of change in the study outcome over time, thus providing more complete modeling of human behavior (Bryk & Raudenbush, 1992).
