ABSTRACT
This chapter begins with society-wide interpretations and misinterpretations of sexuality-related research findings. I then focus more narrowly on misinterpretations made by researchers as well as secondary and tertiary writers reporting the results of studies conducted by social scientists. In particular, I describe research on imputed sexism and several forms of sexual coercion and distortions that have crept into the language used to present results from research on this topic.
