ABSTRACT
It is time to stop the nonsense—in both the science and scholarship within the organizations which support scholars and scientists who study this subject. We must admit that our progress has been slow. Admit that our methods are weak. Admit that our theories need considerable improvement. Admit that much of the work in our area is propelled by personal agendas. And admit that many “flakes” are attracted to, and thrive within, our field….
