ABSTRACT

The first NFDC meeting Jodie and Betty led took place in August in Boston. Just before it, Betty and Jodie talked about their work during the summer and their plans for the meeting. They had received several applications for the planning group for the next institute and several letters of intent to write articles for the second volume of the NJE. They had assigned a topic for narratives the NFDC members would tell at the beginning of the group meeting, “moments that helped them reconnect to teaching.” Jodie had also prepared a directory that included addresses and phone numbers for current and past NFDC members, as well as information on all the teachers who had participated in the faculty institute.
