ABSTRACT

From the beginning of Project A, there was a certain degree of tension between short-term and long-term implementation objectives, and between the goal of broad, systematic change and more narrowly focused objectives. The Project A research strengthened the case for retaining cognitive tests while providing a strong foundation for the use of new temperament, spatial, and psychomotor tests in the selection and classification process. It also paved the way for a new promotion system based on more comprehensive predictive assessment leadership potential.
