ABSTRACT

In Chapter 2, Burack argues that the nature of scientific-practitioner linkages are changing as a function of a number of forces in the external business community. My emphasis is on the relevance of scientific research studies for the advancement of management practice. Results from systematic studies have a complexity and thoroughness necessary for managerial breakthroughs in practice. To show this effect, examples are drawn from several research topics including work motivation, team dynamics, and cross-cultural management theory.
