ABSTRACT
As members of an information society, we rely on the news to find our dilemmas, inequities, ills, and tragedies; and then to make us aware of them. The very manner in which the news people carry out that part of their job can help or hinder the social process of acknowledging and dealing with our problems. Therefore, as the first ones to encounter much of society’s moral problems, journalists beg study.
