ABSTRACT
Although the Churchwide Assembly would not take place until August 2005, in early February I attended a briefing session for the clergy and lay persons who had been elected to be voting members from the Minneapolis Area Synod. The group included an equal number of men and women, and of pastors and lay persons. Rev. Dennis Tollefson, senior pastor of Cambridge Lutheran Church, and I were the two elected from the Northern Conference. Cambridge is the next town north of Isanti, which is the town nearest to my home. We were meeting in the same conference room in the Minnesota Church Center in Minneapolis where the synod council meets.
