Sex-Typical Behavior in ChildrenAs we have discussed, sex-typical behaviors are those that are more prominent in one sex than the other. We see them in small children: rough-and-tumble play, competitive athletics, or aggression; toy and activity preference; imagined roles, careers, or role models; cross-dressing; preference for associating with male versus female individuals; and gender identity.
