ABSTRACT

In a mentoring relationship with a university student volunteer, how can synergy be created to enhance mentoring effectiveness, and what obstacles exist to this synergy? This research study sheds light on these questions by discussing a successful mentormentee relationship between myself, a French instructor, and a Haitian university student who volunteered to help me teach my French I/II class. In an effort to gain a better understanding of mentor relationships and processes, teachers can challenge themselves to grow by collaborating with university students (Figure 5.1).
