ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we will begin to look at the pedagogical knowledge and understanding you will need to secure pupils’ progress in science – in other words to help them to learn. The principles underpinning progress in learning in science are the same for any area of experience. They are concerned with:
the curriculum planned;
the learning experiences offered;
progression and continuity through those experiences.
