ABSTRACT

With home internet access more affordable and commonplace, coupled with the ubiquity of pornography on the web, many adolescents have easy access to content that heretofore was inaccessible. Much of this content has been deemed illegal and inappropriate to be viewed by persons under the age of 18. Not surprisingly, there has been a growing concern among health practitioners, parents, researchers, and policymakers over the potential deleterious effects that exposure to sexually explicit content can have upon the psychological and physical well-being of adolescents.
