ABSTRACT
My title asks an impolite and calculatedly agonistic question. At one level, it concerns academic turf, a quiet contest between creative writing and composition programs over the right to teach certain courses, claim certain genres, hire certain faculty, possess a certain curriculum. But at another level, the question proves useful for raising broad issues in rhetoric and composition studies.
