ABSTRACT
What I propose to do in this chapter is to posit a ‘postmodern’1 frame, in order to provide a particular ‘take’ on issues around racism, ethnicity and identity. My elaboration of the issues will, wherever possible, highlight educational processes, although not exclusively so. My general discussion of racism, ethnicity and identity will be followed by a sketching out of the implications of my ‘postmodern’ framing for the so-called politics of identity and what I call ‘reflexive multiculturalism’, especially in relation to education.
