ABSTRACT

Our starting point was the ethos and standards which, although not recorded, were understood and implemented by all teaching and nonteaching staff, governors and parents. The school was well regarded for the quality of education it delivered and the behaviour of pupils. The staff and governing body then worked together to establish what happened in our school and how we set out to achieve it. The headteacher and governors attended county training on the writing of school aims and objectives and brought this knowledge back to school. Each word and aim was carefully considered and only accepted and recorded when agreement was reached.
