ABSTRACT
Many smaller primary schools have a very clear knowledge about the children’s level of achievement due to the smaller numbers and because teachers often have children in their classes for more than one year. There are many types of assessment taking place in schools and the success of an assessment policy and its structure requires clarity of the purpose, regular reviews and the meeting of national requirements.
