ABSTRACT
The issues briefly raised in this chapter are discussed in the remainder of this book. It is a reflection of the nature of small schools that we have approached this in a practical format, such as by the use of the case study schools and the inclusion of exemplar materials. More specific subject issues are supported by other books within this series which, although not written specifically for small schools, will still be useful for teachers who work in them.
