ABSTRACT

The wide range of responsibilities assigned to the English coordinator probably means that she will appreciate any help you can offer to improve teaching and learning in speaking and listening, reading and children’s writing. The general character of speaking in groups around the computer is highlighted in the previous chapter and key elements from this section might be usefully brought to her attention. ICT can also assist in helping children to master the basic skills in reading, recognising letters, word families, associating sounds with text and with the range of talking books available this has been made easier.
